Kibbutz Nir Am in the "Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council" was founded in 1943 by settlers arrived from Ukraine. In the following years more settlers arrived originated from Argentina, France & South Africa. Nir Am is located west to Sderot. Today, the population in Nir Am is about 360 people.
